    Hi, Sean,
I have received news of your lung cancer condition through Jews for Jesus and am praying regularly for you. Your faith shines through and is an inspiration to us all. my sons are close to your age and I can’t imagine what it would be like to have such a diagnosis without your strong faith. Thank you for sharing.

I wanted you to know that I work in the pharmaceutical industry and have recently heard of two drugs that are apparently doing wonders for late stage (almost hopeless) lung cancer. One is called Nivolumab. It is made by Bristol Myers Squibb. This drug takes the brakes off the immune system and allows the immune system to reject the cancer. It is working very well for a man in my town (Allentown, PA) who had pretty much come to the end of his rope. You can research where trials are in progress on either BMS.com or http://www.clinicaltrials.gov. The other drug is called MK-3475 and it is made by Merck. It also has a different clinical profile and has shown great results in solid tumors. If you look at Merck.com, pipeline, you will find links to the trials. Merck is so excited about it that they are really stepping up the efforts to get it to market in short order.

I hope this is useful to you and I will continue to pray that God brings you complete healing so that you may be pleased to tell others of the redemption you have found in Jesus! Remember he is on the throne and rules over all. (PS–I just had brain surgery last week, so I’m constantly reminded too of our frailty.)

    Sincerely,
    Carol Nolan
