I first met Micha in the early 2000s when he and my brother were both doing internships with Jews for Jesus.  I came to visit and we played a lot of Super Smash Brothers and Mafia.  Micha is one of the most humble people I know and one of the best missionaries I know.  He has a heart for everyone he meets.  I asked Micha to guest blog for me and just share his heart.  So please read, share, favorite, like, and help get this blog out.

Shalom! I am one of Sean’s work coworkers in Chicago. Sean is also one of my heroes in life. I feel a connection to Sean because I’m struggling with a life-threatening disease called Huntington’s. Huntington’s disease is a little like Lou Gehrig’s, where you slowly lose control of your body. My mom passed away from this same thing 7 years ago. It is passed on genetically with a 50-50 chance of getting the gene. I was diagnosed with Huntington’s a few years ago. Some people take a really long time to pass away; for other people it’s shorter. My mom took 17 years. Thankfully she was a believer in Jesus and she’s in heaven with him right now, with no more suffering.

“And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, made ready as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne, saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is among men, and He will dwell among them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself will be among them, and He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away.” (Rev 21:2-4)

It has been harder for me lately to get around and to do street evangelism. My favorite part of the work at Jews for Jesus was witnessing campaigns, and it has been really hard for me not to be able to do those lately. I praise God that he is been redirecting me to be able to do more online outreach with our ministry. Recently I spoke with a man in a chat room, and he was not really open to the gospel. Then I told him that I have Huntington’s and know 100% I get to go to heaven when I die because I trust in Jesus. ‘Coincidentally’ he had just been tested to see if he had Huntington’s disease also (he didn’t)! Afterwards he was more open to hearing about Jesus. God has been giving me many divine appointments like that!  I also love this verse:

“Though He slay me, I will hope in Him.” (Job 13:15)

God is so sovereign, despite my circumstances. He has been using this to help my daughters to grow in service as they help me. And Job’s phrase become one my favorite phrases. “The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away.  Blessed be the name of the Lord.” (Job 1:21b)  Because of God’s faithfulness, I have great peace and joy, and look forward to forever with him! Please pray I have wisdom finding more ways to reach out despite my handicap. Thanks!!!

I pray daily for both Sean and Micha, and your families. I thank God for your faithfulness, and ask that He give your strength, comfort, and “feeling good” as well as asking for healing if that is in His will.
