On Sunday I had the privileged of seeing a pre-screening of John Carter at Pixar Studios as a guest of a friend who works there.  Though my expectations where not high, except for the cool soundtrack that was a part of the trailer, I had no idea what the film was about.  My wife has no desire to see any such sci-fi action thriller about a guy wearing a loincloth and fighting green alien termites yet I convinced her it was worth her attention,  and I was right.

I was instantly draw into the story as I was introduced to John Carter who viciously defied every and any body who tried to tell him what to do, even to a point of humor, and yes I did laugh out loud on various points of the film. I had assumed from watching the trailer that John Carter had some sort of super power because he is able to jump over a sky-scraper in a single bound.  The story was predictable, but who cares when you get to watch a dude whale on green aliens and pretentious humans in 3D.

So right this film is 3D, and not the lame kind.  It looked great in 3D like Avatar looked great except less blue 🙂  The visuals were very stimulating and usually I get a bit motion sick when I’m watching 3D, but John never made me want to take of my glasses.

John Carter comes out this Friday to theaters world wide, I suggest you go and see it.
